In the morning of May 15th,
2019, a delegation of the National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine,
Taiwan, led by Prof.Dr. Fang - Rong Chang, Director, paid a working visit to
Hanoi University of Pharmacy.

Chang, paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Pharmacy in the morning of
May 15th, 2019,
After the bilateral meetings
and laboratory visits at Department of Traditional Pharmacy, Department of
Pharmaconosy and Department of Botany, the delegation had a meeting with the
leaders of Hanoi University of Pharmacy and other related departments and
divisions.
Speaking at the meeting,
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai, Vice Rector of HUP agreed with some
cooperation in the upcoming period as followed: (1) Regarding to scientific
researches, both sides would cooperate in some areas such as tissue culture;
methods of classifying medicinal plants based on morphology and DNA sequence;
collaboration on biodiversity and in-depth researches on some medicinal plants;
deployment of research cooperation projects in the field of pharmaconosy and
traditional pharmacy in order to promote the advantages of Vietnamese herbal
sources and the use of Taiwanese modern
facilites to produce medicine used to treat cancer, metabolic disorders... The
both sides also agreed to coordinate in evaluating biological activities for
standardized medicinal herbs of Hanoi University of Pharmacy; (2) Cooperation
in training: Both sides would implement the exchange programs of lecturers and
students for short-term courses or postgraduate courses in fields of mutual interest, concider the feasibility of developing a dual
doctoral degree program between Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Yang Ming
University and Taiwanese National Institute of Chinese Medicine. A Cooperation
Agreement between the two sides in training, scientific research and exchange
of lecturers and students was completed at the end of the meeting.
